Hi, my name is Edjine and I am currently on my last year in Business Management. My glossary will be for people that are currently studying in this program but also for other people that want to know what words are used in the business field.
- Advertisment
- Noun
- a notice or announcement in a public medium promoting a product, service, or event or publicizing a job vacancy.
- Example: Advertisement is a great way to reach costumers.

- Business is work relating to the production, buying, and selling of goods or services.
- Example: Business Management is an excellent program.

- Clause
- Noun
- A section, phrase, paragraph, or segment of a legal document, such as a contract, deed, will, or constitution, that relates to a particular point.
- Example: Mary didn't understand the clause in the contract.

- noun
- the imparting or exchanging of information or news.
- Example: Communication is really important between the client and the salesperson.

- Competitor
- Noun
- Any person or entity which is a rival against another. In business, a company in the same industry or a similar industry which offers a similar product or service.
- Example: One of Burger King's competitor is McDonalds.

- Noun
- A consumer is a person or a group who intends to order, orders, or uses purchased goods, products, or services primarily for personal, social, family, household and similar needs, not directly related to entrepreneurial or business activities.
- Example: Consumers are spending more and more on unessential items.

- Counteroffer
- noun
- A counteroffer is a response given to an initial offer. A counteroffer means the original offer was rejected and replaced with another one.
- Example: He turned down the deal and came back with a counteroffer asking for more money.

- Example: My customers are very loyal. They always come to my store to get their products.

- Example: A business deal refers to a mutual agreement or communication between two or more parties who want to do business.

- Example: The company filed for bankruptcy due to lack of finances.

- Example: There are many ways to invest. For example, lending money is an investment.

- the action of leading a group of people or an organization.
- Example: Great salespeople always get praised for their good leadership.

- Example: Management includes the activities of setting the strategy of an organization and coordinating the efforts of its employees (or of volunteers) to accomplish its objectives through the application of many available resources.

- The marketing mix refers to the set of actions, or tactics, that a company uses to promote its brand or product in the market. The 4Ps make up a typical marketing mix - Price, Product, Promotion and Place.

- Positioning refers to the place that a brand occupies in the minds of the customers and how it is distinguished from the products of the competitors and different from the concept of brand awareness
- Example: Positioning is one of the most powerful marketing concepts.

- Example: Lower prices can attract more clientele but it can also disinterest others depending on the quality of the products.

- the publicization of a product, organization, or venture so as to increase sales or public awareness.
- Example: In marketing, promotion refers to any type of marketing communication used to inform or persuade target audiences of the relative merits of a product, service, brand or issue.
